Boss drop rates remain low as crap even at WL8, but at least you are guaranteed one 5* artifact per boss run at AR55. TLDR, no point hesitating, just do it.
Raising the world level cap to 10 (optionally) is very low risk with hardly any work, and there is almost no chance anything can go wrong that would make people quit. If you raised the WL to 10, you could lower it back to WL8 at anytime. I think it’s once per day now that you can switch WL.
