Okay So I'm gearing up to do my first Pocket mod. I've done a DMG backlight/bivert, a GBA front light and a GBA/AGS-101 mod. Well it really depends on how bright they are. When modding an ags 101 screen onto an agb 001 your supposed to solder a resistor to keep the screen from blowing a fuze or frying the motherboard. From my experience it works well but the trade off is a slightly less brighter screen. Its been a while since I did the mod so I cant really remember.

I found several sellers offering an ags-101 screen on aliexpress for around 40 USD. Some include the necessary adapter for 32/40 pin GBAs. I'm ordering one once I get home and double check exactly which version GBA I have. That LOCA/Frontlight mod is just trash compared to these backlight screens. I'm super excited.
AGS-101 mod for AGS-001 -- Ok, I actually don't have one of these. I have regular AGS-101s though. My main complaint about those consoles is the brightness levels and this mod fixes that. If you use a brightness controller (and a voltage regulator), you can actually get much better control over brightness levels in this mod over a stock AGS-101.
