I’ve been using this laptop for a year and a half and I’ve never had to plug in any device just to connect to wifi. My Wireless Network Adapter is Qualcomm Atheros AR956x Wireless Network Adapter. I use an Acer Aspire E1-472G-54204G1. I use Windows 10. My Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapters #5 and #6 also only appear as Hidden Devices.
Reason: The network is disconnected by the user. The events before that are: 8000 - WLAN AutoConfig service started a connection to a wireless network. 8001 - WLAN AutoConfig service has successfully connected to a wireless network. 8006 - WLAN AutoConfig service has finished starting the hosted network.

To fix that go to Device Manager ( Windows-key + x + m on windows 8, Windows-key + x then m on windows 10), then open the network adapters tree , right click button on Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter and click on enable. Try now with the command netsh wlan start hostednetwork with admin privileges.
